BOGUS HOSPITAL SHIP
DECLARED A LAWFUL PRIZE (. £By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) ! London, May 21. The German vessel Ophelia lias been •declared a lawful prize. [On November 6 last the British Admiralty announced that the German .vessel Ophelia, flying the Red Cross flag, had been detained because her name had not been Notified to the British Government as a hospital ship, in accordance with the requirements of the Convention. Sh6 had behaved in a /manner inconsistent with the duties of ,a hospital ship. The Prize Court is . now trying tho oase. The Commander of the British submarine D 4 gave evidence that he sighted the Ophelia a few days before her capture. She fled and escaped. He was positive that she was scouting. The Ophelia's commander admitted having received a wireless message instructing him to "look around"—he didn't know what for. He supposed he was to look about for dead bodies. Counsel for the Crown declared that no such reason existed.]
