The Commander of the British submarine D 4 gave evidence that he sighted the Ophelia a few days before her capture. She fled and escaped. He was positive that she was scouting. The Ophelia's commander admitted having received a wireless message instructing him to "look around"—he didn't know what for. He supposed he was to look about for dead bodies. Counsel for the Crown declared that no such reason existed.]
