SWIMMING

WORSER BAY CLUB'S PRIZEGIVING. The annual prize-giving in connection with the Worser Bay Swimming Club ft'as held in the clubhouse, Worser Bay, on Thursday evening. The president of the club, Mr. John Brodie, was in the chair, and in a speech before distributing prizes arid trophies won during the season, dealt with the general position of the club. He referred to members absent and leaving for the front, nnd made an earnest appeal to the younger members to come forward and assist in carrying on tlie good work of the club. Ho also wished to thank Messrs. J. P. Luke and J. A. Fuller for trophies presented, and tho members of tho ladies and' genoral committee for their efforts on behalf of tho club. Mr. C. T. Bell, ■vice-captain, in a subsequent speech, mentioned the names of Messrs. L. W. Green and A. Latta, two members of the committee who are leaving shortly ill the ambulance section for tho front. Mr. Latta suitably responded. The following were the prize-winners: —Misses _ Phyllis Fordham,. Sadie Browne, Verna Browne, Nellie Kendall, and Kitty Pownall, Masters H. Clauston, George Warring, F. B. Gamble, and Messrs. J. Fuller, W. C. Collier, H. W. Harris, and J. Wickens. Other more important prizes and trophies were presented as follows:—C. W. Fraser (first Syds. Atkinson Cup). The following received prizes for events won during the 6easonMiss Phyllis Fordham (first small girls' race, 30yds.); Miss Sadie Brown (second small girls' jace, 30yds.); H. Clouston (first small hoys' race, 30yds., and first 50yds. junior); George Warring (second small boys, 30yds.); F. B. Gamble (second 50yds. junior); Vcrna Browne (first 50yds. ladies); J. Fuller (first 50yds. open); Nellie Kendall (second 50yds. ladies); W. C. Collier (sccond 100 yds. ladies' bracelet); H. W. Harris' (first 50yds. open); Kitty Pownall (Mr. Fuller's trophy); J.
