WRONG BRACES
A London correspondent of the Manchester "Guardian" writes that one of the medical war lecturers who were training nurses turned aside from his theme the other day to give a solemn charge to the members of his class. He conjured them to persuade their fathers, brothers, husbands, or sweethearts to wear hygienic , braces. It seems that the customary braces, which are dual in front, but single behind, bring the strain in the wrong plaoe, and cause stooping and narrowcbestedness. The misguided braces are' even the regulation pattern in the British Army. This is one of the things that they do better in Germany. German army braces are double at the back as well as the front. A separate strap goes straight up and_ straight down over each shoulder, bringing tho strain fair and square on the top of the shoulder. These are the kind ot braces that; according to this medical authority, we all ought to wear.
