The accused left Now York on February_4 as a third-class passenger on tho Arabic, representing himself as an American. He arrived at Liverpool on February 14, and ivas shadowed until he arrived in. a London hotel. The "New York Sun's" London correspondent stated that Kuepferli's arrest revealed the fact that New York was tho centre of a Gorman spy system against Britain. Euepferli's movements were carefully mapped out before he left New York, and h© accomplished his mission in Britain in five days, though ho had never been in Britain before. Two other men, Mulier and Halm, are said to hare worked in I conjunction with Kuopferli, and to have employed similar methods. They are to be tried later. .
