STATEMENT BY MR. LLOYD GEORGE . London, May SO. The King and Lord Kitchener visited the Elswick Works, and received a great reception from the workmen. Mr. Lloyd George, Chancellor of tho Exchequer, speaking hi the House of Ccmmons, stated that 2,000,000 persons wore employed in tho manufacture of Government war munitions. The Engineers' Society has refused to allow tho Glasgow Armament Committee to employ clerks and other unemployed persons in shell-making.
