SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

At the Sailors' Friend Society last night a pleasant programme was provided by Miss Haliburton and party. A short-story competition was held, and caused much amusement. Tho numerous encores testified to the appreciation of tho audience. At the close of the entertainment a hearty vote of thanks to tho performers was moved by the missioner, Mr. Mooro, and responded to by Miss Haliburton. Tho following were the performers:—Misses Mueller, Haliburton, Harper, Messrs. Mason, Calverwell, Travers, and Downes. Mrs. Downes and Miss Harper were accompanists.
