EVERYTHING HELPS.

. Sir. —l would like to make a suggestion to your readers that would not trespass too heavily on their good natures. and at the same time affording pleasure both to the giver and receiver. I would suggest that every person who has a weekly illustrated (New Zealand) paper to spare and in a clean condition, should, instead of burning it, put a stamp on it and send it to some lonely mailless New Zealandor, Australian, or English Tommy at tho front—be it at the Dardanelles, Malta, Egypt, Persian Gulf. West Africa.,' East Africa, South Africa, or Flanders, or any old place where a Britisher is fighting. Its not necessary to know tho name of whom it is sent to. Just put: "To Some Lonely Mailless Tommy (English, Australian, or New Zealandor, as desired), "In the Firing Line or Hospital, (as desired), •"Dardanelles, Egypt, East, TVest, or South Africa, Persian Gulf, Malta, Flanders" (as desired). If you like, write your name and address on the paper, but nothing more. I believe the authorities would ue only too pleased to deliver your papers. Just think what pleasure it would givo to some unknown Britisher at the front somewhere to receive a paper from some kind-hearted New Zealander. Just look how anxiously our boys look forward to mail day, and how glum arc those who receive nothing. Your little act of kindness costs you little, and may be the means of cheering up Soma poor-fellow. Anyway, it's worth trying.—l am, etc., CHEER 'EM UP. .Wanganui, May 18.
