THE NATIONAL RESERVE
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The executive of the above refused the invitation to attend the church parade next Sunday on behalf of our brave boys fighting at the Dardanelles, on the grounds of "business, professional, and other reasons." This decision, it would be ridiculous to assume, does not reflect unwillingness bv the members of the National Reserve to attend the church parade with all other military bodies. The executive are far removed from tho rank and file of the members of the Reserve, and I am sure that not one member in ten knows the constitution of the executive. It is jittle the Reserve can do just yet, but it should and is I believe willing to attend a church parade to the glory of our brave boys and one of the greatest feats in all_ history. As for.business and professional bunkum interfering with a church parade, 110 one will swallow that, so "other reasons" must be held responsible. Possibly golf, gardens, and the long walk are amongst "other reasons." I hope the officers of the various units will see that their companies attend this parade, and not he disgraced in tho eyes of the public.— I am, etc., AN OLD 'UN.
