NATIONAL RESERVE
D COMPANY APPOINTMENTS.
D Company of the Ist Regiment of the National Reserve held a parade last evening. They turned out. 100 strong under Major Prendergast Knight and Captain J. S. Tennaut, and had a most instructive evening; Some eight or nine recruits were added to the roll. After the parade the company said "good-bye" to Lieutenant Bryant, of the Post and Telegraph Rifles, who goes into camp at Trentham _on May 29. Major Knight thanked him for the excellent sfervice he 'had rendered the company, and wished him tho best of luck at the front.
The following appointments were alsc announced No. 1 platoon (Kelburn), Lieutenant John Smith (late of the D Battery); No. 2 (Karori), Lieutenant M. Burnett; No. 3 (Khandallah), Lieutenant Twose.
