THE COURT CARDS,
llie talented Court Cards, whose season at the Opera House is drawing to a close, submitted a bright and entertaining change of programme last evening ui the Grand Opera House. Mr. Sydney Mannering, the tenor, was to the lore with new ballads of love and loyalty, and Mr. George Graystone exercised his vocal profundity on lightsome lavs of the sea and stirring songs of war. 'Ihe quartet work ol these two artists ni association with Messrs. E. Warwick and Albert Keats, is certainly worth walking a long distance to hear. Air. Geo. Titchencr proved himself to be a comedian of limitless resource and unfailing spirits, and his s , with Miss Maud Fane was delightful. This brilliant little lady is always a favourite, and last evening her liberal contributions were all too few to satisfy. Miss Winifred Mitchells extracts delightiul music from her violin, and Mr. Albert Keats is a host at the pianoforte. In the second part the company became strictly neutral —they were all Dutch, and gave the audience a taste of their quality in a jovial interlude, entitled "A Drop of Hollands." Songs appropriate to their dress and clogs were sung, pipes were smoked, and there was a distinct aroma of schnapps noticeable when the wind blew outwards, showing the fine Belascohke realism of Mr. Warwick's atmos■pheric effects. Still it was all very bright and jolly, and quite a lot of discerning Wellington folk will be sorry to see the last of the clever Court Cards.
