VICTORIA COLLEGE

ANNUAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. The annual meeting of the Victoria College Council was held la6t night. There were present: Sir Robert Stout, the Hon. J. G. W r . Aitkon, the Hon. A. f. Maginnity. Dr. C. P. Knight, Messrs. T. R. Fleming. W. Ferguson, C. Wilson, A. R. Atkinson, W. H. Morton, C. B. Morison, Clement Watson, and the R-ev. W. A. Evans. Leave of absence was granted to the Hon. A. L. Herdman, Dr. Hector, and Mr. R, M'Callum, M.P. In the absence of the retiring chairman (Mr. H. H. Ostler), Mr. Clement \\ atson was voted to the chair pending the election of _ a new chairman. For tile actual election, however, the trar took tho chair, D There was only one nomination for thb position, that of Mr. Clement Watson, wlio was therefore elected. His proposer was the Rev. W. A. Evans, and his seconder Mr. T. R. Fleming. The Rev. W. A. Evans was re-elected treasurer. It was decided that all committees of the council be reappointed to hold office until the new council takes control in July. Tho Rev. W. A. Evans was reappointed tho council's representative on tho Senate.

It was decided that a Roll of Honour Board, as suggested by the Students' Association, be placed in the college, and that a suitable permanent record be provided later. The Roll of Honour will comprise tho names of all college students who have served in the war.. Tho resignation of Mr. W. A. Stuart as demonstrator was accepted, and Mr. G. B. Dall appointed temporarily at £12 10s. per mont\ The _ council empowered tho Iftnance Committee to expend £50 on the improvement of the grounds. In terms of the Finance Committee's recommendation, Mr. T. R. Fleming, Mr. C. Watson, and Professor Hunter were appointed to represent the council on tho Workers' Educational Association.

The Jacob Joseph scholarship awards were made to Mr. Kenneth Ross and Miss Shirer.
