STEAMER FREEZING SPACE
SOUTH ISLAND ALLOTMENTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Tlmaru, May 17. . Mr. J, Craieie, M.P., this evening received the following from the Prime Minister in reply to the telegram sent on behalf of a meeting of farmers held on Saturday urging that more freezing freight space be allotted to the South Island:—."ln reply to your telegram of the 15th, I have to advise that of 684,000 carcasses 6pace available for June and early July loading, 308,600 have been allotted to the South Island, including 234,000 mostly in the earliest steamers to Canterbury companies. Further steamers .due to commence loading are the Delphic, Waiwera, Coriutiiic, and Ruahine,. foT which space will bo allotted shortly."
