Shortly before 9 o'clock last nigK the fire brigade was called to a small tiro at 9-4 Victoria Street, a three-story brick building, the second floor _ of which, occupied b.v tlio Walsbech Light Co. of Australasia, Ltd., was slightly damaged. The tire originated atnong»4 a quantity of straw packing. The_ building was owned by Mr. Evans, of Timaru. and was insured in the Queensland office for £5000. The contents of tii€ AVelsbach Light Co. were covered by a policy in the Yorkshire office for £400.
