FOUND DEAD IN BED.

An old man, aged 73 years, named Julius Holtz, was found dead in bed at his home in M'Kenzie Terrace, Karon, on Friday. Deceased, who was a well-known resident of Karori, had been ailing fof some time and it is thought death was due to heart disease. ■ An inquest will be held at 4 p.m. to-day.

The man's name is not known. It is presumed' t'hat he has been dead a few days. STOREKEEPER SHOOTS HIMSELF. Auokland, May 16. A case of suicide occurred at Howick on Saturday, a local storekeeper, named George Joseph Sellwood, a Justice of the Peace, shooting himself through the • head with a revolver. _ Deceased was a widower, aged fifty-eight, years and had been worried over business matters.
