NAVAL MUTINEERS BOMBARD THE i CITY ...... ARMY LOYAL TO THE REPUBLIC (Reo. May 18, 8.80 p.m.)' Madrid, May 15. Serious rumom have reached core of a revolution in Portugal. Many fugitives are arriving at Badajoz. Outbreaks are reported from Lisbon, Coimbra, Oporto, Santarem, and otlief towns. There has boon fighting betweea the troops and masses of civilians. The telegraph and telephone lines have been cut. (Rec. May 16, 4.10 p.m.) Madrid, May 15. Offloial. —Telegrams state that the Portuguese naval squadron in the TagUß is leading the insurrection, *hnd has bombarded the city. Considerable dam-, age has been done, and numbers cf. people killed and wounded. Private telegrams state that the commander of the cruiser Vasco di Garni has been murdered. The army is garrisoning Lisbon, which' remains loyal to President Axriaga. DEGRADED KNIGHTS ' ; BANNERS REMOVED FROM WINDSOR CASTLE. . / London, May 14. The King-at-Arms, upon receipt of the Royal Warrant, proceeded to Windsor Castle and ordered the Knight ban- @ ners to be taken down. There have been only three degradations since 1793, including that of the Duke of Monmouth, whose spurs were hacked off and his sword broken above his head. The Heralds then tore down his banner and helmet, and spurned them with their feet from St. George's Chapel.
It was previously reported by cablegram that the Kat6er, Emperor Francis Joseph of Aupfcria, the King of Wurtemburg, tho Grand Duke of Hesse, Prince Henry of Prussia, and the Dukes of Saxe-Coburg and Cumberland had been struck off the roll of the Knight? of the Garter.
