(ATTRACTION FOR THIS AFTER- ; NOON. • This afternoon will see the continujjßcs of the senior championship fixtures, and the game which will no doubt attract most followers is that between 'Athletic and Trentham C 2 at Athletic Park. On last Saturday's form ' it was demonstrated that last year's champions have struck form early in the season) while tho .three Trentham teams have been showing good condition in a 6eries of matches played among .themselves at the camp for some weeks past. ' As near as possible the three teams representing . Trentham, and known as "A," "B," and "0" are of 'equal strength, the players being evenly distributed, as if all the leading players . had been seleoted for one team no local club team would, in the ordinary course, lave had a chance against them. In the C team against Athletic to-day pevoral well-known interprovincial players from Auckland, Taranaki, Wellington, and Canterbury will be seen in action. On No. 2 ground Petone meet University. At Petone Oriental meet ■Trentham- B, while.Selwyn travel to Trentham to play their A team. There .will-be the usual early, matches at the park to interest those who arrive before three o'clock. , The following will represent Petone against University to-day:—J. Corson, iW. Hutt sixth-<;]ass team to play Athletic at Hutt N0.2 is: Burns, Lockett, Turner, Sullivan, Coffey. Kitto, CaTgill, iMudgway, M'Donald, Burt, M'Kay, Daly, Grierson, Doran, Cargill, Carter. The Hutt fifth to play Poneke is: Lazarus, Fawcott, England, Jenner, M'Kay, Cameron, Murray, Doyle, M'Kay. Hally, O'Connell, Johnson, EdHie, Pohlen, Power. - The following will represent St. John's against Selwyn: Reid, Methven, F. Andrew, Atkin, Wright, Macrobie, Menzies, Wiren, Lake, Wilson, Smith, Carpachan, Smellie. Elliffe, Whelah. Reserves: D. R. M'Donald, Nelson, Tubpan.
