The Commercial Bank of Ltd., who have been conducting thele Auckland Branch at premises in Shorty land Street, have purchased a property in the centre of Queen Street with a large four-story building thereon, which: they intend to occupy after it has bees suitably altered. Tlie premises were recently purchased by Messrs/ Wilson! and Canham, Ltd., for £29,500, and have since been acquired by the bank at a satisfactory figure. The bank haS opened branches in the four chief cities of the Dominion, and recently purchased in Wellington the premises preriousljj occupied by the Post Office Savings Bank, No. 328 and 330 Lambton where their business is now conducted.

A meeting of creditors in the banls> rupt estate of Albert William Organ/ newsvendor, of Wellington, was neltl in the Official Assignee's Office jester-, day. Mr. A. Tansley, Acting-Official Assignee, was in the chair. Mr. J. Sv Barton Appeared for Organ. The total amount duo to unsecured creditors was set down as £1107 12s. Of this suni £645 consisted of calls due to tho liquidators of Books and Papers, Ltd., £155 10s. lid. to Wilsoii and Horton, Ancbt land; A. Sanderson, Otakune, £350f J. S. Barton, Wellington, £15 15s. 6d.J and C. Bidd, Eltham, £1 ss. 7d. Assets totalled £100, over which security was held by a creditor, fn his statement debtor said he was managing director of Books and Papers, Ltd. All tha money lie possessed was invested in the company's shares. - Tho outbreak or war had stopped all sales on the railway, except newspapers, and in less than months tho company was forced mtq liquidation.
