An interesting side line in electricity is at present being conducted by tho Christchurch City Council's Electrical Department. This is tho manufacture of sanitary disinfectant from salt water. The process is a simplo one, but tho finished product is of considorablo value for sanitary purposes, and is extensively used in Poplar, London, and in many other places.
