WIMMERA DUE TO-NIGHT. Ilavins loft Hobart at 5 p.m. on Monday last the Huddart-Parker steamer Wimmero. should show up at Wellington this evening. Out of a total of 13C0 tons of cargo for New Zealand ports the vessel will have 550 tons at. Wellington before proceeding on to southern ports and Melbourne tomorrow. From the Bluff the Wimmera will proceed direct to Melbourne, thus omitting tho usual call at Hobart this trip.
' MAMARI LEAVES HOBART. A message has been received by the held office of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. stating that the Mamari, which is bound from London to Wellington, continued her journey from Hobart at 8 a.m. yesterday. The liner should arrive at Wellington on Monday afternoon.
R.M.S. REMCERA REPORTED. Information has been received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company Etating that R.M.S. Remuera, which is en route from London to Wellington, via way ports, cleared Teneriff« on May 10. She is due here about Juno 20. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr R. S. Ingram, late second officer of the Monowai, has signed on the Tarawera as extra officer for the run to Auckland, Mr. A. H. Langlands has joined tho Tarn, wera as fourth officer for the trip toAuckMr! Marshall, purser of the Maori, lias come ashore on account, of ill-liealth, Mr. G. Norman, late of the Corinna, has relieved him pro. tern. Mr. F. W. Benstwid, formerly purser of the Mokoia. and Wahinc, is at present acting as purser of the Corinna. Mr. J. Turner lias joined the Petone as chief engineer. Captain R. Davies, late of the Kanna, has gone to Sydney by tho Ulimaroa for instructions. teptaiu Irwin, late of the llapourika, lias token charge of the Kanna. . Mr. Winter, chief engineer of the Kanna, has come ashore at Wellington.
A load of cement will be lifted by the Ennerdale at Terakohe to-day and to-mor-row for Brisbane and Townsville. Prior to taking final departure from New Zealand the vessel will take in bunker coal at Wcstport. The local office of tho Union Company has been advised that R.M.S. Marama, which cleared San Francieoo for Wellington, via Papeete'and Rarotonga on April 28, is bringing 87 passengers for all ports. Ooal-ladeu the Union collier Koromiko is reported to have left Newcastle at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. She should show up here about Monday next.
The Arahura. was expected to got away from Nelson for Wellington ct 10 p.m. yesterday. Provided this arrangement was carried out the vessel should mako port between 6 and 7 o'clock this morning.
A projected, departure from Wellington for Westport to-morrow is the ■ Union collier Kanua. It is proba.ble that she will load there for Auckland.
The collier Kamona is due at Wellington from Westport to-day. A part cargo will be taken on to Gisborne t-o-morrow.
When tho Blackball Coal Company's Ngat-oro has completed discharge of her Oreymouth coal at Wellington early next week she will be placed on the Patent Slip for cleaning and painting. From Calcutta the Union steamer WaihoTa arrived at Auckland last ovening. It is expected that the vessel will arrive at Wellington about tho beginning of next week.
Due in port from the north this morning tho HuddartrParkcr istearaer Victoria, will land 400 tons of cargo at Wellington before proceeding on to Lyttelton and Dunedin this evening.
An expected arrival in port from St. John (Canada), via way ports, to-day will bo the New Zealand Shipping Company's Ruapehu. When discharge of tho local portion of her cargo is completed she will sail for southern ports either on Monday or Tuesday.
In order to pick up Homo cargo tho Turakina left Nelson for Lyttelton yesterday. May 25 is the date which has at present been fixed for the vessel to leave Wellington for London The reason given- for the lato arrival of the Riverina. at Auckland from Sydney la-st' trip was that she hod been delayed by bad weatheT and fog. She took four day 6 14 hours to make, a- journey of 1281 miles. -For three days the Riverina was compelled to battle against heavy head seas.
Due at Wellington from New York, via Panama Canal and Auckland early this morning, tho A. and A. Line's chartered steamer Invertay will berth at the King's Wharf to discharge the local portion- of her cargo.
It is reported that the barquentine lima, which arrived at Auckland several weeks ago with a. cargo of hardwood from Tasmania, has boen sold for use as a. coal hulk. The vessel has been under 6urvey for some time, and os tho repairs necessary would run into heavy expense, it is stated that the owners decided to dispoEo of tho vessel.
