The rebuilding of the gigantio railway bridge across the St. Lawronco, opposite the mouth of the Claudiore Curve, near .Quebec, which collapsed in 1907, is progressing satisfactorily. The piers havo all boon placed in position, and are of massive masonary, built ot the colobrated .Riviere a I'ierro granite. The central cantilever span will bS 1800 ft. in length, as compared with 1710 ft.., which is the span of tile cantilever bridge over the Firth of Forth— till now UlO longest span in existence. The Quebec bridge will 'therefore bo one of the. engineering wonders of the world. It will bo the means wheroby five railways from the south shore of the St. Lawrenco will outer tho city, and will give four rnilwavs on the north side access to tho south.
