The Britieh Board of Trade lias issued a, notice calling tlie attention of seamen to the fact that in view of the present emergency it is their duty to do thciv utmost to carry out the terms of their agreements, and that failure to do so render* them liable to heavy penalties. Quite recently seven seamen belonging to a transport were sentenced to 12 weeks' imprisonment with hard labour for neglect of duty, e-ud impeding the progress of the ship. MAMARI DUE MONDAY. On inquiry at tho head office ofthefiha-w, Savill, and Albion Co. yesterday, a reporter was informed that the Mamari. which had arrived at Hobart from London on Tuesday afternoon, will not make Wellington till Mouday next." Line, have been advised that their 61earner Port Curtis, which cleared New York for Auckland and. Wellington on April 16, parsed, -through the Panama Ganal on April 26. From St. John (Canada) the New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Rangatira is due at Auckland about May 24, and at Wellington about May 28.
