RUGBY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS The Management Committee of the Wellington Ilugby Football Union mot last night. There were present: Messrs. i). D. Woir (in the chair), W. Donovan, W. l'\ llornig, G. Luoni, 11. Buck, F- J; lt.van, U. Howe, A. Griffith, A. E. Wilson, and Lieut. Christopher (representing tlio Tronthani football players). A communication was received from Iho Potono branch of tho St. John Ambulance Association asking tlio ccmmittco for certain iirst-aid matorial. It was dccided to supply the material as requested. It was resolved to grant the Potono District High School two footballs for the use of tlio senior and junior teams ul the school. A similar request, from tho Normal School for one football was also granted. The Upper Ilutt Football Club was permitted to enter a team in tlio Third Grade competition. From tho samo club intimation was received that Mr. T. Quiim had been appointed to act as delegate for tho club in placo of Mr. N. J. Bennington. It was decided to grant a bye to the third-class team of the Berhamporo "Football Club for Saturday, owing to some' disorganisation in that club's team. A letter from the secretary of the Hntt Club protesting against the inelusion of two 'layers in tlio Oriental j Sixth Grade team on tlio ground of their being over ape was held over pending an explanation from the Oriental Club. . Permission was granted to the Wellington Waterside Band to use the Athletic Park on Sunday mornings and afternoons for training purposes, in connection with the local band marching competition, under the auspices of the Patriotic Society's Carnival.

Mr. Hornig was appointed as the union's delegate to tho meeting of the sports bodies of tho Now Zealand Patriotic Society, to be held to-day. A member of the Potono fiftli-class team who was ordered off tho liold by a referee on a. recent Saturday for charging an opponent was severely cautioned by tlio chairman. f. The play in the match Pakelia—Hereawa was of a first-class order, while the Petone. Ramblers' game was a scramble from start to finish. PAKEHA V. HEREAWA.' This match was played at Karori, and after a well contested game resulted in a win for- Pakeha by five goals, to three. From the bully-off Ilcreawa 'carried play into Pakoha's quarters, and Bree finished up a fine forward passing rush by finding the net. For a time Pakeha held their own, but from a freehit Hereawa got into tlie circle, and from a scramble the ball went off the pads .of one of the Pakeha players, leaving Hereawa with a lead of two goals. Pakeha now put more lif3 into their play ; and soon had Hereawa on the defensive, and Lewer, taking a nice pass in front of the net, shot a fine goal. The Pakeha forwards playing well together forced the play into the circle, and Robinson found the net. Some fine passing 011 both sides ended in favour of Hereawa, and Kuch put Hereawa ahead by finding the net. In the second spoil, Pakeha, after having the best of the first quarterof ail hour, scoicd through the agency of Lewer, and keeping up the attack, Robmson added another goal to their credit. Play from this to the end was very even. Mr. F. M'Keever was referee. PETONE V. RAMBLERS/ The Petone v. Ramblers' game was played at Petone, and after » hardfought game resulted in a win for the local team by two goals to one. The game was a long way 'below the best standard. Ramblers' first scoro came through one of the Petone players when in his own circle hitting tho ball into tho net. The play was hard and fast, and from a scramble in the circle Cavell (Petone) scored. In the second half play for a time was very even, and it was only in tho last feiv minutes that j Cavell scored the winning goal for Petone. Mr. Gus Empson was referee.
