HOCKEY
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The Management Committee of ths Wellington Hockey Association held a meeting last night. There were present Messrs. H. A. Schlaadt (in the' chair), M'Eldowney, M'Keever,, Sheoran, Morris, Rowntree, Barr, and Bennett (secretary). On the motion of Mr. Bennett it was decided to accept the nomination of any of the mid-week teams desirous of entering the second round of the Saturday championships on the payment of a certain fee. _ It was also decided that the association rent grounds at Newtown Park and Kilbirnio to accommodate the midweek teams if they enter into the competition. Mr. G. W. Morris was appointed chairman of the Management Committee for the season, while Mr: W. T. Richards was appointed to a vacancy on the committee. It was decided to authorise the schools' committee to purchase a number of sticks for distribution at reduced cost, to scihool-boy Lockey players. Intimation wsvs received from the Wesley Hockey Association that Mr. A. E. Bat© 'had been appointed delegate to the association pro tem in the absence of Mr. R, E. Blackburne. A communication was received' from Mr. G. M. Haigh accepting the position of delegate of the Wellington Association to the New Zealand Association. It was deoided to write to the controllers of the Queen Carnival to the effect that the _ association -was prepared to assist in the carnival. Messrs. J. C. Cusack, A. A. Bennett, and G. P. Smythe were appointed selectors for the season. WEDNESDAY FIXTURES. Tho following are the grounds and fixtures for to-morrowPetono v. Ramblers. at Petone; Hereawa v.' Pakeha, at Karori.
