MEETING OF GENERAL- COM* MITRES. ..The monthly-meeting of the General Committee of tho Masterton A. and 1. Association was held on Saturday in the association's rooms, there being present Messrs. 0. C. Coopor (president), \\ Perry John Strang, G. Shaw, W J. Welch, G. H. Perry, B. H A. Matthews, J. M. James, Tr - ! o^3 , Cooper, OE. Allen, W- Bmck, A. J. Percy; R. Gray, Q. Donald, C. HolniGS-AVavron, D. Foreman.D- Caselberg, R. A. Wilton, G. O. \» llliams, and H. Morrison. Tho secretary of the Manawatu A. and P. Association forwarded the draft of a schemo prepared by Mr. J. 11. Johnston some timo ago in regard to the subsidising of A and P. Associations through a totalisator tax. The opinion of this association was asked on the subject. A suggestion was made that the matter be referred to a sub-committee. Mr. W. Porry thought the question was ono for consideration by tho A. and P. Conference. After some discussion the circular was referred to tlio Light and: Thoroughbred! Horse Committee, with the addition of Mr. W. Perry, with power to act. • _ A communication was received from the Employers' Association in reference ,to the demands made by the General Labourers' Union. It was decided to thank tho secretary of the association for his communication. Mr. . J. M. Johnston, of Palmerston Worth, forwarded a donation of £1 Is., for which ho was thanked. Several no.v members were elected. The report of the meeting of the finance Committee was iead. • Tho treasurer reported receipts for the month amounting to £174 155., and expenditure £859 3s. Id- The credit balance at date was £18 lis. Accounts amounting to £11 Is. 6d. were passed for payment. An application from the Savage Club for the use of the committee rooms for the club's fortnightly "korero" was granted on certain conditions. The secretary submitted lists of outstanding donations, subscriptions, amounting to £309 9s. 9d. The greater portion of ths subscriptions and practically the whole of the donations end entry fees wero considered good. x The Ground Committee's report was read. Tho caretaker's report was adopted, and other minor matters dealt with. Tiio rule 3 for the ram fair were again discussed. It was decided that the attention of the Earn Fair Committee ho. drawn, to the rule in regard to order of sale. After some discussion it was decided, on the motion of Mr. W. Perry, that where a breeder has an entry of eighty rams and over, rams bo taken in tlie first drawing, and the remainder in drawings of one-third: It was further decided, on the motion of JUr. G. H. Perry, that in future there be only one drawing, and that no preference he. given to sheep securing the highest average at the previous sale. _ On the motion of Mr. W. Perry, it .was decided that the sale of stud rams be held, in'tho future in a separate ling .(to be provided), simultaneously with the sale of flock rams. .
