RETURNED TROOPERS—UNDESIRABLE AND UNFIT.

Sir,—l had a letter last week from a. relative with tho Forces in Egypt describing a visit ho bad paid to on© of tho hospitals. Among tho patients were soveral troopers, who have now returned to New Zealand as medically unfit; and my correspondent was impressed with the mortification they folt at being placed, in popular esteem, if not in the official returns, in tho same class as the undesirables. Cannot the authorities give a badge to men who have failed to stand up to tho work through no fault but inherent weakness, and enable the public to distinguish between them and those who have only themselves to thank for their ignominious return?—l am, etc., JUSTICE.
