THE SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

A largo audience was present last night at the Sailors' Friend Society, when an enjoyable entertainment was provided by Mrs. Dunn and' party. A clever exhibition of conjuring by Mr. Liardet was much appreciated. During the evening a short story competition in connection with the war and other matters was held. A display of jiu-jitsu by Messrs. Hedgelaud and Dunn was watched with interest. At the close of the concert a hearty vote of thanks was' accorded the performers by the missioncr, Mr. Moore. The entertainers were Misses Fairclough, Robertson, Messrs. liinis, Green, Smith, Cooze, Abrahams, Armitage (R.M.S. Arawal, and Bowden. Mrs. Green was an able accompanist.
