RUGBY FOOTBALL

This afternoon will see the commencement of the senior Rugby championship, and from all appearances thero will be some keen contests. Eleven teams are entered, including three from the Trentham Camp. Selwyn, a prominent junior club lor many years, iiavo come up to senior, and will be Been hi action against Oriental at Athletic Park to-day. Tile other game at the Park, and one likely to attract most attention is that botween Poueke and Athletic. At Petone there will bo keen interest in the showing of tilo Trentham "A" team, as well as in that of the local fifteen. Trentham '|B" meets St. Jainca at Trentham, whilo University and Wellington meet • at Lower Hutt. All the teams include numerous new and young players, and patrons should sec some keen contests in. each of the five games set down for decision. The union announce the issue of season tickets on the usual conditions, except that the price has been considerably reduced, showing a considerable saving to regular patrons, who will no doubt tako advantage of the opportunity. , , TEAMS FOB TO-DAY.
