Reports received by the latest mall from America concernlnif 'the movements of steamers from Now York for new Zealand and Australian ports state that the Invertay was dispatched on March 20 for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. This vessel arrived at Auckland yesterday. The Berwick Law Is reported to have left New York for Lyttclton, Dunedin, Sydney, and.Bri'sbano, while the Port Curtis sailed on April It for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. Tho steamer Oanostota has been ohartered to load at New York for Hew Zealand and Australia, but the date of her departure is as yet uncertain. The steamer South Paciflo is also announced to load, but her ports of oall have not yet been announced. An arrival in port to-day will be tho Union Company's Malrnra, which has relieved tho Paloona in tho New ZealandHobart service. She is scheduled to -sail tor Hobart and Melbourne at noon to-mor-row. . . _ , For the purpose of continuing Homoward loading tho New Zealand Shipping Company's Turakina i 6 due at Nelson from Timaru on Sunday next. The Union steamer Talune has been plaocd in dock at Auckland for cleaning and painting. She will clear the northern port for the Oook and Society Islands on Tuesday, May 11. In futuro the Blackball Goal Company's steamers will take oargo from Lyttelton to West Coast ports. The Ngaliuta, which cleared tho southern port for Grejmouth on Monday last, was tho first vessel of the fleet to take such cargo. Information has been received in Wellington stating that tho Nelson-Bays trader Hlna has been purchased for tho West-port-Karamea trade. The 0. and D. liner Star of Sootland is due at Wellington from Wanranui on Wednesday, May 12. She . will bo dispatched for London tho following day. ' New Plymouth and West Coast cargo will be takon in at Wellington by tho Union steamer Flora, on Monday next. Due in port from tho north this morning tho Union steamer Tarawera will land 264 tons of cargo hero before proceeding on to Lvttolton and Dunedin. After having uudergono a complete overhaul at Wellington tho Anchor Line's Niknu left here for Nelson yesterday. Siio will arrive back on Saturday, and will sail the same day for Nelson and Motuoka. Tho Knitoa will resume hor usuaj running on Monday. The Japanese stoaiuor Asama Main is expected in New Zealand about May 22 with a cargo of oil and timber from a foreign port. Notification of the vessel's departure for Wellington was received from London last week. Tho Canterbury Steamship Oompanys Calm will load cargo at Wellington on Monday for eoutherji ports.
