FIGHTING THE TURK

_4 RESOLUTE ADVANCE IN GALUPOLI MASSED ATTACKS ON THE BRITISH MAGNIFICENT STAND BY THE COLONIALS I

FURTHER CASUALTY LISTS

News from various sources to-day indicates that the Expeditionary troops on the Gallipoli Peninsula are successfully developing a vigorous offensive, and that heavy onslaughts by the Turks in mass have been repulsed. The fighting has been severe, and the Australians and New Zealanders appear to have been in the very thick of it. Ail estimate of the Turkish military strength and disposition of the armies shows that our men are fighting the picked troops of the Ottoman Empire. We publish to-day a further list of the casualties. It is stated that the Maori contingent is to proceed to the firing line, but what front is left to be conjectured. A second Maori contingent is to ' be sent.
