RIFLE-SHOOTING NORTH RANGITIKEI MEETING. The tenth annual meeting of the (North Rangitikei Rifle Association commenced oh Friday last at the Pou* whakarua Tange, Mangaweka. Tko entry, though not large, was quite a representative one. Among the competitors were some of the finest shots from many of the leading Rifle Clubs of the North Island. It is a feather in the cap of this association that it is able to attract from so far afield rifle shots of the calibre of D. Roots (Patea), ■ W. iWilliams. and H. Loveday (Ohura), Wakely (Featherston), M'Leay (Opaki), Mayhew (Linton), and many others. A reason for this is that this association offers an exceptionally valuable list of trophies for competition, including a .very fine belt, which has the honour of numbering amongst its winners two ex■DominioE rifle champions.
Great interest centred in a triangular taatch between the districts East Const, West Coast, and King Country; five men- aside, the result of which is included in the report. The weather was fino but cloudy. A. light'rear right wind, however, somewhat puzzled many of the riflemen. Results:— ■PUKEOKABU MATCH, 300 yards; 7 • shots. £2—W. R.
