' RUAPEHU AT AUCKLAND... Telegraphic advice has been received from Auckland stating that the New Zealand Shipping Company's Ruapehu arrived there from SJ-. John, via Australian ports, lost evening. She is due here towards the end of this week. B.ANGATIR-A AT ADELAIDE. The head office frr the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have been advised that the Rangatira, running under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived at Adelaide from St. John (Canada) on April 29. The Rangatira is expected to reach Wellington on May 20. S.S. TRAFALGAR SAFE AT LONDON. According to advices received by the head office of the Shew, Savill and Albion Company, their chartered -steamer Trafalgar, which cleared Wellington for London on MaTch 3, arrived at her destination on April 2a. MANUKA DUE TO-MORROW. Leaving Sydney for Wellington direct at noon on Friday last, the Union Company's eteamer' Manuka should show up here to- 1 morrow morning. She has 88 saloon and 48 steerage passengers on board for New Zealand, as well as 810 tons of cargo, included in which is 431 for Wellington.
MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. T. H. Anderson, chief engineer oi the Maitai, lias bceu granted holiday leave. Mr. R. Knox, ivho has been chief engineer of the Arahum for a month, has relieved Mr. Ander6oa. ! Mr. J. Cable, chief engineer of the Arrvhura, has rejoinod that vessel after holiday leave. It is announced that a ves6cl called 0.8, one of tho captured German. stumers, has been fixed to load at Now York on behalf of the C. and D. Lino, for New Zealand and Australian ports. It is probable that she will bo dispatched about May 29. On Saturday the Shaw-Savill liner Aiuwa left Lyttelton for Gisborno to continue Homeward loading. For tho purpose of commencing Homeward loading the' 0. and D. liner Star of Scotland left Wellington for the Bluff on Saturday moraine. Lyttclton and Wanganui mil be the vessel's next port® of call, and she will return to Wellington to fill up. En route from London to Wellington, tho Shaw-Savill steamer Kia Ora left Durban for Australian ports on April 27. The vessel is due in New Zealand waters about Juno 8. Wet weather at tho Bluff has been responsible for delaying tho Shaw-Savill liner Zealandic at that port. Consequently sho will not clear for Timaru till to-day. Having arrived at Auckland yesterday from Vancouver, via Honolulu and Suva, the Union Compo-ny's R.M.S. Niagara will proccod on to Sydney at noon to-day. Tho vessel brought '130 passengers in all classes and 1330 tons of cargo for Auckland. A message has been' rcceivod in Wellington stating that the steamer Hornclcn which recently visited this port under charter to the Union Company, has arrived at Iquique from Newcastle. Messrs.
