NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL MEETS.(By Tolegraph.—Press Association.) Ghrlstchurch, May 1. The Council of the New Zealand Swimming Association" met last evening. Tho appeal of W. A. Muller against the decision in the bridge to bridge race at Wanganui was upheld, and it was decided that tho race be reswum. The Government grant ,of £180 ivas allocated as follows: Auckland, £22 10s.: Hawko's Bay, £21 10s.; Wanganui, £15; Wellington, £12 10s.; Westland, £10; Nelson, £10; Canterbury, £17 10s.; Ot-ago, £15. The council went into committee to discuss a. motion by a Canterbury delegate regarding the reinstatement of C. Welson. On resuming it was reported that it had been decided that the question of Welson's amateur status bo not reopened.
