SUBMARINE PIRACY
LAST MONTH'S TALLY ■ London, April 80. The Admiralty states that submarines sank nino vessels during April, totalling 17,124 tons, and ten trawlers, aggregating 1755 tons. High Commissioner's report:— London, April 30, 9 a.m. "Arrivals and_ sailings of merchantmen of all nationalities at and from United Kingdom ports for the week end»d April 28 total H4.1. , Sunk, one; British trawlers sunk, four."
TRAWLER SUNK. London, April 30. A submarine sank a trawler seventyfivo miles off the Tyne. She gave the crew time to (lint. A patrol boat afterwards chased the submarine and fired several shots at her. BRITISH STEAMER SUNK. London, April 30. Lloyd's representative at Stornoway reports that a British steamer was attacked by a submarine and sank off IjSTfis-with-Harris, Outer Hebrides. The crow landed at Carloway.
