"" INVESTMENT BHABEH. ■ In the.investment market yesterday Galea were reported of National Bank at £5 10s„ and National Insurance at 48s. 6d. Tile Quotations were as follow:—

.. WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE BALE 3. The fortnightly soles of wool, skins, bides and talow were held yesterday by the various brokers, whoso reports arc appended i Messrs. Dalgety and Co, report that a good catalogue was offered to the usual attendance o£ buycre.. Competition was keen, throughout, and prices for wool and skins' were very firm at last, sale's rates, being, if anything, in sellers' favour, whilst hides and tallow showed a decided advance on prices ruling then. The New Zealand Loon and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—The attendance of buyers was well up to the average, and bidding was .brisk. ■ There was a good demand for dry skins, and all sold well at late rates. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., re-i-port that buyers were present in good numbers, h.i]d■ competition was keen. Wool came back somewhat, in sympathy with London. Skins were a farthing to a halfpenny lower than last saJo,. salted being in strong demand at slightly lower rates. Tallow sold well at an advance on last quotations. Messrs. Murray, Eoberts and Co. report that they offered 2000 sheepskins and 600 hides and calfskins. Only bag wool was sold, all bales being held for the first crutching rale on May 14. Sheopskins maintained last sale's prices, hides showed an advance of 3d. per lb. for ox, cow hides being firm at par to id. per lb, advance. Calfskins showed an easier ten- • dencyr Prices for tallow were firm. Messrs. "W. and G. Turn-bull and (Jo., Ltd., report that despite adverse reports from London this week, sheepskins were fully -up to tho ruling rates, buyers seeming to have anticipated the drop at tho last sale. Hides showed an improvement on last sale's rates. Tho United Farmers' Co-op. Association, Ltd., and the Wairarapa Farmers' Co op. Threshing returns up to the ond cf March show that 4,665,529 bushels of wheat have been bagged, end there will be at least another million bushels to. ,ad 4 when I threshing is completed.
