' Ronald Fitzgerald, cleric, Kilbirnie. Frederick Dunning, Harbour Board, Wellington, .

The total number of mem who have registered for enrolment as recruits at •No. 5 Group Office (Wellington) since February 15 is 936. The chronicling, of daily registrations does not accurately represent tlie number available for service, as subsequent to registration, the men have to submit /themselves to a strict medical examination. According to recent calculations the number of. rejects locally total about 15 per cent, of those registered. A further qualification in the numbers must he made on account of those who, having been passed as "fit," do n'ot present'themselves when called upon to go into camp. A proportion of these men may have good reasons to justify their action in withdrawing, but it would be helpful if they would report their change of intention as soon as they are able in order to facilitate the making up of quotas.
