RUGBY FOOTBALL.

N.Z. REFEREES' REPORT.

The tenth annuwal report of the New Zealand Rugby Referees' Association, which will be presented at the annual meeting of delegates to be held on May 14, says:— "The number of associations affiliated is twenty-one, being an increase of one. Two new associations are applying for affiliation. During the year Jlr. R. M. .Isaacs, who has been president of the 'association since its inception ten years ago, was transferred in tho service of the New Zealand railways fiom Wellington to Invercargill, and, in consequence, will not seek re-election at the annual meeting of the association. During his long connection with the executive lie has given valuable, service to the cause of Rugby football, and in the giving of the interpretations on points of law which have come before the oxecutive his advice and opinions have been of great value in coming to interpretations from time .to time. Mr. Isaacs has invariably given his full attention to the business of the association, and the executive feels that the delegates at the annual meeting should make some tangible recognition of his services. To that end they would ask associations to instruct their delegates. The finances of tho association are in a. sound condition. there being £27 lis. 2d. balance at the bank. The assets show a balance (£4B 4s. 5d.) over liabilities; but the executive regrets that several associations are in arrears witli their subscriptions and payments for handbooks."'
