Auckland.—Tho Mayoralty rosulted: —Mr. J. H. Gunson, 8805; Mr. R. Tudehope, 5752. Majority for Mr. Gunson. 3053. Newmarket. —The Mayoral election resulted:—Mr. James M'Coll, 450; Mr. W. J. Jaffrey, 437. Wanganui.—The Mayoral election resulted:—Mr. C. E. Maekay, 1352: Mr. T. B. Williams, 698; Mr. E. N. ruled last week. Best, 16s. to 18s.; extra Liffiton, 600. The Borough Council election resulted in the return of Messrs. Alderton, Coull, Dustin, Gower, Harkness, Hall, E. F. Liffiton, Luxford, M'Caul, Sigley, Spriggens, and Thompson. The proposal to borrow £24,000 for. tramway power and electric lighting was carried, but the general purpose loan of £67,000 was defeated. Palmerston "North.—The Mayoral election resulted:—Mr. J. A. Nash, the present Mayor, 1965; Mr. F. J. Nathan 1405. Stratford—The Mayoral election resulted:—Mr. J. W. Boon, 376; Mr. R. McK'Morrison, 122. Hawera. —The Mayoral election resulted:—Mr. E. Dixon, 436;. Mr. E. Morrisey, 431. Wairoa.—The Mayoral election if suited :—Mr. J. Corkill, 339; Mr. F Shaw, 3815. Masterton. —The Mayoralty resulted as follows:—Mr. J. M. Coradine (retiring Mayor), 863: Mr. John' Hunter, 385. _ . The following were elected to the Masterton Borough Council in tEe order named: —Messrs. W. Candy, H- O'Leary, A. W.. Chapman, F. ;'W. Temple, E. Flanagan, G. \V. Sellar, W. Kemp, J. Kitchener, and P. Cotter. Foxton.—Mr. A. Fraser, ex-Town' Clerk, was elected with 297 votes, Senior Councillor Chrystall scouring 238. Nelson.—The Mayoral , election resulted:—Mr. C. J. Harley, 1200; Mr. W. "Lock (the retiring Mayor), < 1082. .Blenhoim. —Mr. J. J. Corry, the sitting Mayor, secured a majority of 92 over Councillor'Carr. Westport.—At the borough elections to-day 15 candidates stood; the following being returned: —Messrs. W. T. Slee, 974; S. J. Atkinson, 910; 7\'. G. M'Donald, 809_: J. W. Fair, 693; J. H. Powell. 711; W. Williams,-. 669; T. Samuel, 630; W. H. Hillyar, 599; H. Lareen, 565. For the Hospital Board six candidates stood, and the following four were eected:—Messrs. Leaver, 913; M'Donald, 829; Samuel, 686; Greenwood, 654. ! Ohristchurch—The municipal elections resulted:—City Mayoralty: Mr. H. Holland (the retiring Mayor), 4591 ; Mr.' R. M. Spiers (Social-Domocrat), 3947; Mr. C. TE: B. Sorensonj 3634. The City Council was eleoted as follows : Citizens' Association, 9 ' members; Social Democrats, 6; Independent, I.' A ? oil was taken on the half-holiday quesion, and Saturday was returned by a large majority.

Gniness, the present Mayor, defeated an ex-Mayor, Mr. W. Angland, and Councillor Hunt by a largo majority. The returns are not all in. Temuka.—Mr. A. Frew won the Mayoral election, .defeating Mr. W. F. Evans. ' ' •. Geraldine.—Mr. J. • Kennedy, the present Mayor, and Dr. Hislop tied, and drew lots, Dr. Hislop winning. Asbburton.—The Mayoral eleotiori resulted:—Mr. Robert Galbraith,' 633: Mr. Henry Davis, 373. Mr. Davis had held'the office :for twelve consecutive years, and had been elected unopposed on each occasion. The poll was the largest known here. Oamaru—The Mayoral election resulted in Mr.'W; H. Frith, .retiring Mayor, defeating Mr. A Jas. Mitchell by 145 votes. Dunedin. —The city Mayoral election resulted as follows:—Mr. Clark, 6862; Mr. Myers, 5251; Mr. Marlo'w. 3940. Port Chalmers.—The Mayoral election resulted: —Mr., T. Scollay (retiring Mayor), 509; Mr. TV. Morgan, 470. The poll on the question of .the weekly halfholiday was taken to-day, and resulted as follows:—Saturday, 10,343; Wednesday, 9128; .majority in favour of Satur-, day, 1215. . The Saturday proposal was, therefore,'carried. Mornington.—Mr. Sincock was elected Mayor with 587 votes, his opponent, Mr. Harraway, securing 391. 1 Inveroargill.-r-Mr. Duncan M'Farlane was re-elected Mayor of Invercargill by 700 majority.
