Of wheat straws, purple straw Tuscan is the most in demand owing to its higher feeding value. Owing to the long dry season the straw is in an excellent condition. ■ •

Potatoes are easier in consequence of the large quantity offering riff the forks, and £3 15s. is now the ruling price at country stations. The shortage in shipping space to Auckland this week is hampering merchants, .but spade is expected to be available next week.
