Chrlstchurch, April 27., The North Canterbury Hospital Board received intimation to-day that Miss Jane Chalmers, of Ashburton,'had donated £8000 towards a ward for inourable cases at Christchurch Hospital. It is 'Understood that the gift will carry a subsidy of twenty-four shillings in the pound.
