DECISION OF THE COURT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wanganul, April 27. Mr. Kerr, S.M., Rave reserved, decision to-day in the case of Rex v. ■seven ex-members of _ the Wanganui County Council, a claim to recover £9 55., excess of unauthorised expenditure. The Magistrate decided that the first item, for sending a delegate to a conference of councils was not an act in the execution of any requirements. Tile counties were not doing anything which the council was empowered to do. He gave judgment for £4 for the Department'. In regard to tho travelling expenses of the chairman to the Counties' Conference, the Magistrate found that tile expenditure was justified, and regarded tho sum of five guineas as an authorised expenditure.
