The M&itai is scheduled to continue her journey on to Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisoo at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
RUAHINE ARRIVES HOME. A belated cable was received by the local office of tho New Zealand Shipping Company yesterday stating that their R.JI.h. Ruahine had 'arrived at Plymouth from Wellington on April 23.
RUAPEHU'S MOVEMENTS. Due at Auckland from St. John, via Australian ports, on May 3, #iie Netf Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruapehu will load at Tokoma;ru Bay, Napier, Wellington, Lyttclton, Dunedii, Port Chalmers, Waitara, and Wellington. She will sail from here for Home about May 29.
TURAKINA'S LOADING PORTS. Leaving Wellington, lor Lyttelton to-day, R.M.S. Turakina will complete discharge there before proceeding on to Duuediu to load for Home. Subsequently tho liner will visit Timaru, Nelson, Lyttelton, the Bluff, and Wellington. She is scheduled to leave here for London on May 20.
WAITEMATA REPORTED. According to advice received by tho local othct ot the Union Company, their steamer Waitemata. left Suva, in continuation of her journey from San Francisco to New Zealand ports on Friday last. She is duo at Auckland about to-morrow, and will subsequently visit Wellington and Australian ports.
LIVERPOOL TO NEW ' ZEALAND. According to the latest advicos. received by the F. and S. Line, the steamer Somerset has been, fixed to leave Liverpool for New Zealand ports on May 5. She is due at Wellington on June 26. The chartered steamer La Blanca iB reported to have left Liverpool for New Zealand porta, via Oapo Town, on April 20. Provided she left on the date mentioned, the vessel should arrive here ab.out June 22.
A chartered steamer named the Hurnnui, owned by the New Zealand Shipping Company, has been fixed to leave Liverpool on May 20 for New Zealand ports via South Africa. She i 6 duo at Auckland on July 3 and at Wellington on, or about, July 8.
Another New Zealand Shipping steamer, the Orari, has been' chartered by the F. ajid S. Line to load at Liverpool for Now Zealand ports. She" has been fixed to 6ail on June 5.
The Opawa. was scheduled to ea-il for Wellington from Liverpool, via way ports, on ApTil 24. This vessel is due here about une 15. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Captain W. D. Cameron, of tho Pateena, has been granted holiday leave, and Captain J. M: Holmes, late of tho Mapourika,, has boe.n appointed to succeed him.
Captain White-Parsons, of E.M.S. 'furftkina, who was invalided ashore at Oapo Town, is reported to bo convalescent.
Captain W. P. Collins has taken charge of the Moeraki, and has with him the following officers;— Messrs. E. Vellowncth (chief), F. Diiismoro (seoondl, and A. J. Cornish (third).
Captain Hay, of the: Nikau, is ashoro, and. Captain Wildman, senior, has taken charge of the vessel. -
The Hokoiki is due at Wellington from Hobart and Sydney direct this evening. She will be dispatched for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and the Bluff at 5 p.m. to-morrow. The Moeraki will relieve the Mokoia ill tho Sydney service, leaving Wellington on April 29. The Batea Harbour Board has notified tho Marino Department that, on and after Wednesday, May 5, 1915, an Aga aoetone white light, giving a flash of <I.Ssec. followed by an eclipse of 2.7 sec„ will be shown from the lighthouse on each Kide of the river entrance, in the place of the present 6lh-order red light. The light should bo visible in clear weathor for a distance of twelve miles.
Having arrived at Greymouth from Wellington, via way ports, at 8 a.m. yestorday, tho Arahura left on the ■ return trip ait 7.30 p.m. To-day tho Union collier Kurow is due at Wellington' from Newcastle, via Picton, witli a part load of coal. Before proceeding on to northern ports this afternoon, the Monowai will land 638 tons of cargo at this port. A projected departure from Lyttelton for Wellington to-day is the Shiaw, Savill liner Pake-ha. She will arrive here tomorrow and will be dispatched for London on Saturday next. It was anticipated'that the Government stoamer Hinemoa would leave Eussell in continuation of her inspection of northern lighthouses this morning. A message has been received by the Marine Department stating that the Gov. eminent training ship Amokura left Port Glial mora for Akaroa yesterday afternoon. She will' arrive at the latter port to-raor-row afternoon and Lyttelton on Saturday. It is expected that the vessel will return to Wellington on May 6, when she will lay up for tho winter for the boys' schooling. . .
