Butter.—The market is quiet bnt steady. There is a fair demand for befit quality, but a. poorer demand for lower grades. Mellsop, Eliott, and Co., local agon to), reporting on the frozen meat market under date London, March 16, state: 1 Thirty-seven steamers arrived from N.Z., Australia, and South America during February, and their cargocs of 863,000 carcasses mutton, 567,000 lamb, 335,CC0 quarters frozen beef 100,000 quarters chilled beef) were so slowly discharged that available stocks were greatly depleted and extreme prices prevailed.
