SCOTTISH HARRIERS
The initial run of the Scottish Harriers was held on Saturday last, some 12 members attending. The pack assembled at Cliff House, Island Bay, and paper being dispensed with, they were led by vice-captain R. J. Ballantyne along the sea coast and up the Happy Valley for about two miles, when the road was abandoned and a course taken over the Moinington hills. The return was made through the reserve and down on to the main road. The usual run-in was held over the last 300 yards, and resulted in Messrs. W. Ballantyne, E. Welsh, and R. Waters filling the respective places. Altogether the run was a most enjoyable one, much enthusiasm and promise being displayed by the younger members of the club. Nest Saturday the run will be held from Lyall Bay and all intending members and enthusiasts are invited to attend.
