(By Telegtaph.—Pres3 Association.)
Auckland, April 26. The Japanese Trade Commissioners, Dr. J. Miura and Mr. M. Olitani. were welcomed to Auckland at a civic, reception at the To™ Hall this morning. The Mayor' (Mr.. C. J. Parr) presided and there was a fair attendance of commercial men and others.

Tho Japanese had a proverb which meant that a fine country made,a fine people, and that afine peoplo made a fine country. The • Auckland district was splendid proof of the truth, of this saying. According to the experience he' had obtained in his short trip through this country ho believed there was plenty of room for an international trade between New Zealand and J a pap to develop at a very rapid rato.
