ITALY'S IRREDUCIBLE MINIUM
A REQUEST TO AUSTRIA
Rome, April 25. The newspaper "Messagero" states that Austria has made further concessions. though the total is still far from Italy s demands. Italy has replied, detailing the minimum concessions it desires, and requesting a reply within a reasonable time. ■ ' AUSTRIA DESIRES INSTANT PEACE. (Rec. April 26, 5.40 p.m.) London, April 25. The Hague ha 3 been informed that Germany has practically abandoned the attempt to reconcile Austria and Italy. The latter's claims are . described as preposterous. A Russian authority . declares that Austria desires instant peace, but is irrevocably 'bound* to Germany, who would now prefer Austria to be neutral, and hampering the Russians by permitting Austrian volunteers and guns to be used on both the German fronts.'
Prince von Bulow (German Ambassador to Italy), has evacuated his villa in the vicinity of Rome/ and .dispatched his horses and dogs to Germany. 'The Italian brokers are refusing German money.—("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) GREECE ABOUT TO JOIN THE ALLIES. (Rec. April 26, 5.40 p.m.) Brindlsl, April 26. Reports state that Greece is abandoning her neutrality, and joining the Entente Powers. The Government has decided on the principle of action, but no date has been fixed.
