ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
. A HARBOUR MYSTERY. In rcepect to the body of a newlyborn child which was found floating in the harbour on Monday last, the Coroner (Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) has returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence—that _ death was due to haemorrhage. The inquiry was adjourned from last week to" see if any more evidence .would be forthcoming, but as nothing more was ascertained about deceased the verdict, as stated, was returned. INQUEST IN DUNEDIN. (Bar Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedln, April 24. At the inquest on the body of H. Goodman, a verdict was returned that death was due to acute peritonitis, following a rupture of hydatid cysts. The evidence showed that deceased was in a weak condition when admitted to the hospital, but tho doctors could not say whether rupture was due to a kick or a push from a horse, or from rupture of the cysts. A verdict ill accordance with the "medical evidence was returned. SUDDEN DEATH. Napier, April 24. Mrs. Harford, an elderly widow, collapsed in a tramcar to-day, and expired in a few moments.
