FIRES IN THE CITY
TWO CALLS FOR THE BRIGADE,
The dropping of a lighted_ match was responsible for the Fire Brigade being willed out 011 Saturday evening, at abolit a quarter to nine, to ail oightrdoiiled house in Edward Street, where a bedroom and its contents were severely damaged. The house was occupied by Margart- Jane Hall, and owned by. Mr. J. Uric, of South Edward Street. The contents of the house wore not insured: the risk on the house is not yet In the afternoon at 3 o'clock the Brigade received "a call to an inuipient fire in a house in Grant Road, the damage consisting only in tho burning of a, kapoc pillow. Tho lire was caused by, a lighted cigarette butt.
