LIVE STOCK SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Masterton, report having held their usual weekly sale at Solway on Wednesday, when there was the usual attendance, and a fair yarding of stock, for which there was only a, limited demand. However, practically a total clearance was made at the following prices Empty ewes, 135.; f.m. and r.w. Down rams, lis. 6d., to 13a.

The Kew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency., Ltd., report: Wo held our autumn cattle fair in the P.F.A.. yards on Wednesday last, when we had a big_ yarding, though hardly up to the advertised numbers. There waa a, good attendance of buyers' from local and outside districts, and competition for good steors And forward conditioned cows was .keen, but outside these bidding was not very animated. However, we arc pleased to report a good clearance at tho following rates: Three and 4-year bullocks, £7 15s. od.; 2J-yeer. steers, £5 ss. to £6;' 18-mouths and 2-year steers, £3 to £4 12s. 6d.; weaner steers, da. to £2 10s.: cow and calves, £3 156. to £5 65., fat cows, £5 10s., £5 155., £6 to £6 10s.; forward store ■ cows, '£4, £4 ss„ £4 10s. to £5 2s. 6d„ backward ditto, £2 10s. to £3 10s.; weaner heifers, '15s. to 325. 6d.

The New Zealand Loan. and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., roport:—At Solway wo submitted a, fairly good yarding in sheep, embracing all classee. In sympathy with tho continued dry weather and'the operations of the Meat Companies, bidding was Dot brisk under tho himmcv, rates showing a decline as compared with recent markets. However, wo effected a clearance at tho following prices :-Store wethers, 2 and 4-tooth 18s. 9(1.; fa,t ewes (fairly good). 186. Id.: s.m. ewes in lamb. 145.: culled ewes, 9s. 4d.; forward ewes, 165.; good Lincoln Eomncy lambs, 12s. 9d.
