SHARLAND AND CO., LIMITED. The report of.Sharland and Co., Limited, for the year ended February 28 states that ifter providing for all bad and doubtful debts and full depreciation, the net profits for the year, inclusive of £965 6s. 3d. carried forward from last year, amount to £8573 10s. Bd. Prom this sum the directors lave added £2500 to the reserve fund, making it up to £20,000, end recommend appropriation of tho hnlflJico as follows:—To pay a. dividend of 7i per cent., £5315 7s. !od.; Mr. R. M. Watson, who is not now residing in the Dominion, has resigned from tho board, end it is not deemed necessary to fill his place. Mr. J. S. Owen retires in terms of tho Articles of Association, and offers himself for re-election. The prose profits for the year were £36,155 Us. Salaries, interest, discount, etc., totalled £26,633 10s. Bd.; bad debts, £734 18s. 4d.; and depreciation £1178 17s. 7d.

The London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Company has purchased the shares of the Australian Mutual Insurance Society.
