SECOND DAY'S RACING, (By Telegraph.—Presy Association.) Palmerston North, April 22. Tue weather kept fairly fine for the concfuaiag day of the Manawatu Racing Club s Autumn Meeting.' Showers fell in the afternoon. There was another crowd in attendance, and brisk business was done, the totalisator figures *824,558 against .£17,930 last year, the total tor the meeting being *£50,962 against «£3G,955, showing an increase of <£14,004. The results were as follow:— KAIBAKGA HURDLES, of 150 sovs. One mile and a half. 1 Messrs. .Richmond and Struthers's Birkful, lOst. slb (J, Deerey) 1 2 The Diver, 9st (A. Birkful led all the way. The first time passing- the stand the order was Birkful, Crra, Aruake, and The Diver. Cyra fell back at the bend, and The Diver jumping excellently passed Cyra i e i n the straight led from Birkful.. Gold Foil jumped out at the start, but could not maintain the pace. Desert Gold was first into the straight, closely attended by Emperador and lfangitero. Sylvandale jumped 'out from the start and, was first into the straight. Hereford came through and challenged Sylvandale opposite the stand, and after a great finislhi won by a head. The third horse ran well all the way, and finished strongly two lengths from Sylvandale, some distance separating the third and fourth (Janitor). Time, lmin. 48sec.
LONGBUKN HANDICAP, of 400 sovs. One mile and a quarter. 9 Mr. A. Alexander s Sunbird, 7st. 101b.

Won by a length. Tete-a-tete made a Rood showing round the back, where Ea-* tana also made the pace. Sunbird led into the straight, Tetc-a-teto fell back, and Bertrada, Kilrain, and Sunbird took up the running. Sunbird managed to maintain the lead and won by a length, the same distance separating the second and third horses. Time, 2min. 7sec.

Astor galloped away from the bunch and led to the bend, tfhere Chakwana took charge and the two fought tho race out three lengths ahead of the rest. The winner got home by a length, with Avon Park two lengths away. Time, lmin. 15 sec.
